Terms of use

JRC Trackside logs your runs, imports your lap times, keeps your setups and helps you decide what to change next. We keep improving it, so features may be added, changed or removed. The service may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance.

You get an account by starting a plan, a free trial or a launch seat on our website, by signing up in the JRC Trackside app, or with a code from us. An account is for one person, so do not share it. You are responsible for activity on your account.

You sign in with a code or link we email you, or with Apple or Google. Anyone who can open that inbox or those accounts can sign in as you, so keep them secure.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and make any purchase.

Plans are sold on our website and paid through Stripe: in US dollars in the United States, in euros in the euro area, and in Australian dollars everywhere else. At checkout, Stripe may show an Australian-dollar price in your own currency.

If you buy from the United Kingdom or the European Union, Stripe sells the plan to you on our behalf, as the merchant of record. Stripe then handles the payment, the VAT and your receipts, the charge on your statement starts with LINK.COM, and Stripe’s terms for that sale apply alongside these.

Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can change or cancel your plan from the Subscription page. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing more is charged.

If you are not happy with a plan, ask within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. Launch seats are different: see Launch seats below.

Each plan has usage limits, such as the number of Engineer questions each month, shown on the plans page. If we raise a price or reduce what a plan includes, we will email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you, so you can cancel first.

New drivers can try a plan free for 30 days. You give a card when the trial starts, and nothing is charged during it. When the trial ends, your plan starts: the card is charged the plan’s price, and the plan renews like any other. We email you a week before that first charge.

Cancel before the trial ends, from the Subscription page, and nothing is charged. You can also start your plan early, and it is charged that day. During the trial, Race Engineer includes 20 Engineer questions; its monthly allowance starts with the plan.

There is one free trial per person and per card: an account that has had a plan or a trial, or a card that has already started one, cannot start another. The 14-day refund above counts from your first payment.

Until the end of 31 October 2026, Sydney time, we sell a limited number of launch seats, in batches at the prices shown on our website. A seat is a single payment. It gives you Race Engineer, including what Race Engineer gains over time, for as long as we operate JRC Trackside. Nothing renews, and there is nothing more to pay for it.

A seat does not include products or add-ons we sell separately. Race Engineer’s usage limits apply, including its Engineer questions each month. A seat belongs to the account that bought it and cannot be transferred or resold.

There are no change-of-mind refunds on a seat: the 14-day refund for plans does not apply to it. A seat bought while this page offered a 14-day refund keeps that refund. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other consumer law that applies to you, which can include a refund if a seat is not as described. A refunded seat ends. If we stop operating JRC Trackside, seats end with it: we will give reasonable notice and a chance to export your data, as described under Ending your use, and no further refund is due.

The Engineer is an AI race engineer. It reads your runs, setups and lap times against a vehicle-dynamics knowledge base that we write and keep refining: how springs, dampers, geometry, tyres and weight change the way a car handles, and what matters in each class of racing. The calculators and analysis elsewhere in the app are built on the same engineering.

Even so, every suggestion is something to test, not a guarantee. The Engineer cannot see your car, the track on the day or how you drive, and like any AI it can be wrong. Judge its answers as you would advice from an experienced engineer: against what the car does on track.

You make every change to your car, and you are responsible for it. Check that a change is mechanically sound and within your class rules before you run it. Do not rely on the service for anything safety-critical.

Your runs, notes, setups, setup sheets, videos and other uploads remain yours. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to run the service for you: saving them, showing them to you and to anyone you choose to share them with, and sending the relevant parts to our AI provider when you use an AI feature.

Only upload content you have the right to use. Do not upload another person’s private information, or media you do not have permission to share.

Your content is private to your account unless you join a team. Once you accept a team invite, that team’s members can see your runs, as described in the Privacy policy.

Some records are shared with every driver by design: the tracks, tyres, additives and chassis types in the catalog, including ones you add. Other drivers can see them, and we may edit, merge or remove them to keep the catalog accurate. If you add a chassis by uploading its setup sheet, that sheet becomes the chassis’s sheet for every driver who races it. We clear the values typed into its boxes first; anything written or drawn on the page itself stays.

The service belongs to us: the app, the Engineer and its knowledge base, our setup-sheet maps, and the service’s design and text. While your account is open and you follow these terms, you may use the service for your own racing. That right is personal to you and cannot be transferred.

Car, part and product names, logos and setup sheets belong to their makers. We show them only to identify what they describe, and that does not mean a maker endorses JRC Trackside.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the service without owing you anything.

Do not:

• try to reach another driver’s account or data;
• copy, scrape or automate the service, put unreasonable load on it, or work around your plan’s limits;
• try to make the Engineer reveal its instructions or knowledge base, or copy the service’s content to build another product;
• resell or redistribute the service or its AI output as your own product;
• upload malware, or content that is unlawful, abusive or infringing;
• post anything hateful, harassing, sexual or threatening, or abuse another driver.

We may slow or pause AI features for an account that uses them unusually heavily, so they keep working for everyone.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report a teammate, or a shared track, tyre or chassis, from its “•••” menu, and block a teammate from the same menu. We review every report within 24 hours and remove the content, or close the account, when it breaks these terms.

The service reads publicly available timing pages from LiveRC, Speedhive, Sensible Laps, RC-Results and MyRCM to find your sessions and lap times, for example when you log a run or import your races. We are a companion to those sites, not a replacement for them. We are not affiliated with them, do not control their data, and cannot guarantee that an import is accurate or will keep working.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. That permanently deletes your account and your data, including the files you uploaded, and cancels your plan straight away so nothing more is charged. A launch seat ends with its account. Chassis sheets you added to the shared catalog stay, without your values, and Stripe keeps its own record of your payments.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Unless the breach is serious, such as abuse, fraud or an attack on the service, we will warn you first.

If we ever stop operating JRC Trackside, we will give reasonable notice and a chance to export your data first.

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and the law where you live may give you similar rights. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

Apart from those rights, the service is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any analysis or suggestion will be right for your car. Keep your own copies of anything important: we are not a backup service.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost race results, or damage to cars, parts or equipment arising from your use of the service. Apart from the rights above, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or for a launch seat, the price you paid for it.

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change affects what you pay, what your plan includes or how we use your data, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies. Other changes apply once they are posted here. The date at the bottom shows the current version.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If you are a consumer, you keep any protection the law where you live gives you. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given it up. If JRC Trackside moves to another business, we may transfer these terms to it, and your rights under them stay the same. These terms and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.

If you use our iPhone app, Apple’s standard licence terms for App Store apps also apply to it. Your agreement about the service is with us, not with Apple.
